welcome to Urban Artistry

Urban Artistry is an international collective of artists and dancers focused on the authentic and complete representation of urban dance styles. Established in 2005, our work includes:

• Urban dance education through studio classes and in-school/after-school programming.
• Event productions, including theater shows, festivals, flash mobs, and global exchanges.
• Performances across the DC metro area and around the world.

Dedicated to preserving and building on the culture of urban dance through both performance and competition, Urban Artistry includes experts in b-boying/b-girling, popping, locking, hip-hop, house dance, waacking, vogueing, and more.

Although UA promotes education in foundational movement and history, these culturalists operate from the understanding that culture is not stagnant: it is a living, breathing entity that accepts change built on the legacy of past innovators.
